Speech-Language Therapy

Huntsville, AL

Building Communication Skills

Communication is the foundation for learning, building relationships, and navigating the world. Our speech-language therapy services help children develop the skills they need to express themselves, understand others, and connect with the people around them.

Our services are led by Anna Irons, MCD, CCC-SLP — a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist with experience across age groups and diagnoses in private clinic settings. Anna’s clinical focus areas include language disorders and Childhood Apraxia of Speech.

What We Address

Our speech-language therapy services cover a range of communication needs, including:

  • Expressive language — Helping children learn to use words, sentences, and gestures to share their thoughts and needs
  • Receptive language — Building the ability to understand spoken language, follow directions, and process information
  • Articulation and phonology — Improving speech clarity so children can be understood by family, peers, and teachers
  • Language disorders — Targeted intervention for children with delays or disorders in language development
  • Childhood Apraxia of Speech — Specialized therapy for children with motor planning difficulties affecting speech production
  • Social communication — Developing pragmatic language skills such as turn-taking, topic maintenance, and reading social cues
  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) — Supporting children who benefit from communication devices, picture systems, or other tools

A Collaborative Model

At Inquiring Minds, our speech-language therapist works alongside our ABA team to provide coordinated care. When communication goals align with behavioral goals, collaboration between disciplines leads to stronger, more consistent outcomes for your child.

Families are active partners in the therapy process. We provide strategies and activities you can practice at home to reinforce what your child is learning in sessions.
