Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

About the Role

Inquiring Minds Behavioral & Developmental Services is looking for dedicated, compassionate individuals to join our team as Registered Behavior Technicians. RBTs are the front line of ABA therapy — working one-on-one with children to implement treatment plans designed by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct one-on-one ABA therapy to children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental needs
  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a BCBA
  • Collect accurate data during therapy sessions to track client progress
  • Assist with skill acquisition programs targeting communication, social skills, daily living, and academic readiness
  • Manage challenging behaviors using approved, evidence-based strategies
  • Participate in team meetings and ongoing training sessions
  • Communicate regularly with supervising BCBAs about client progress, concerns, and observations
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive relationship with clients and their families
  • Uphold ethical standards as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; college coursework in psychology, education, or a related field is preferred
  • Current RBT certification through the BACB, or willingness to complete the 40-hour RBT training and pass the competency assessment within 90 days of hire
  • Experience working with children, especially those with autism or developmental disabilities, is a plus but not required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent schedule
  • Reliable personal transportation

Requirements

  • Minimum age 18 with high school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • First-Aid certified, or willing to obtain certification upon hire
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • No prior certification required — we provide paid RBT training through the BACB
