Behavior Technician / RBT (Full-Time & Part-Time)

About the Role

Inquiring Minds Behavioral & Developmental Services is looking for dedicated, compassionate individuals to join our team as Behavior Technicians / Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). RBTs are the front line of ABA therapy, working one-on-one with children to implement treatment plans designed by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts.

We have both full-time and part-time openings. This is an in-person role, working with clients of various ages and skill levels in home, clinic, and community settings. It is a rewarding opportunity for anyone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and families in the Huntsville community.

Pay & Schedule

  • Starting at $15.00 per hour, with a tier-based pay model and clear advancement opportunities
  • Full-time and part-time positions available
  • Day shift and after-school hours (roughly 2:00 PM / 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM), weekdays only

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct one-on-one ABA therapy to children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental needs
  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a BCBA
  • Collect and record accurate data on client progress using an electronic data collection platform
  • Assist with skill acquisition programs targeting communication, social skills, daily living, and academic readiness
  • Manage challenging behaviors using approved, evidence-based strategies
  • Participate in team meetings and ongoing training sessions
  • Communicate regularly with supervising BCBAs about client progress, concerns, and observations
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive relationship with clients and their families
  • Uphold ethical standards as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; college coursework in psychology, education, or a related field is preferred
  • Current RBT certification through the BACB, or willingness to complete the 40-hour RBT training and pass the competency assessment within 90 days of hire
  • Experience working with children, especially those with autism or developmental disabilities, is a plus but not required
  • Enthusiasm for working with children with developmental disabilities and an interest in pursuing a career in ABA
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work well on a team
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent schedule
  • Reliable personal transportation

Requirements

  • Minimum age 18 with a high school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • First-Aid and CPR certified, or willing to obtain certification upon hire
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • No prior certification required. We provide paid RBT training through the BACB
